Our motor yachts:

The vessels we hire out are our yard's own cutter yachts. These are magnificently lined, robust and expressive vessels and certainly not typical hire yachts. In many ways they are unique as regards sailing characteristics, image and comfort. This all means you will really feel like the captain and owner of an exclusive motor yacht and that is the way you will be received during your trip in Friesland or on the IJsselmeer.

Parkeerplaats

The start in Woudsend:

When you arrive you will served a cup of coffee or tea in our welcoming reception area. If necessary we can discuss a sailing route with you. We have luggage trolleys available to help you get your luggage on board. The motor yachts are located in spacious sheds which have side jetties along their entire length.

As soon as you have brought your luggage on board, you will be given detailed technical instructions and will be able to try the boat out briefly, along with the rest of the crew, so that you can familiarise yourself with your 'private motor yacht'. You can leave your car in our secure, fenced-off car park. The fact that we live on the business premises is an additional security.

You can park your car in the fenced-off car park of our new charter base with reception, toilets, own boatyard. We welcome you with tea and coffee and then we would love to show you the ropes of your “private yacht”. After getting the luggage on board we ‘ll give you an extensive technical instruction – and then it is time for a test!

Navigation licence and experience:

You do not need a navigation licence to hire one of our yachts! In the Netherlands, a navigation licence is only obligatory if the vessel is longer than 15 metres or can travel faster than 20 km per hour. Various

sailing courses are available for people with little or no experience, varying from a couple of hours to a whole day. These training courses are provided by an experienced instructor from the Schippers Start Hulp. Click here for detailed information and information on the costs

We have also made a slide show and a video film for you to watch. These give you an impression of the start and, in particular, the tryout. The film can only be viewed by broadband Internet users

Proefvaart

Sailing area:

The sailing area - unsurprisingly - covers Friesland with its charming water sport locations such as Woudsend, Sneek, IJlst, Sloten, Lemmer, Grou and Bolsward and, not to forget, the magnificent Eernewoude nature reserve. Overijssel, and attractive places like Giethoorn, Blokzijl, Ossenzijl and Zwartsuis are also within range. Experienced water sport enthusiasts can venture onto the IJsselmeer with the old Zuider Zee harbours of Enkhuizen, Hoorn, Medemblik, Volendam, Marken, etc.

Folding bicycles:

If you do not want to sail all the time, you may be interested in hiring some of our folding bicycles. These are ideal, particularly in Friesland where there are a lot of 'transfer points' from the waterway to the cycle path networks. A bike is also handy for shopping or for fetching fresh rolls from the local bakery in the mornings.

Ship's boat with outboard:

You may even want to hire a handy ship's boat with outboard motor. You can use this ship's boat to visit places which are inaccessible to large boats, for example the Frisian town of Hindelopen, which is on the route of the Eleven City Race. You can then explore the narrow waterways of the Eernewoude nature reserve or the Weerribben. Such trips are, of course, great for kids!

Life jackets:

Of course you can also hire life jackets in various sizes. Children's life jackets are free. We also rent out duvet sets, marine telephones and laptops with a GPS route planner.

Sailing like you have never done before...
